That’s the vision behind the Technological Scouts initiative, a program designed to empower kids and teens from ages 5 to 18 with the skills they need to thrive in our digital future.
The Program
Our program is structured into three main categories, each catering to different age groups and interests: Tech Cub Scout Group, Tech Scout Troops, and Tech Explorer Crews. From the youngest Bit Bots, who are just starting their tech journey, to the advanced Tech Titans mastering cutting-edge skills, we offer a path for every child.
How It's Done
We believe in learning by doing. That’s why each scout needs to earn badges in various tech disciplines, such as programming, cybersecurity, robotics, and more, through engaging, hands-on projects. For instance, to join the Bit Bots, a child learns cybersecurity basics through a fun game and progresses by completing more challenges to graduate to advanced groups. Older scouts tackle real-world problems with technology, fostering not only technical skills but also creativity, problem-solving, and ethical thinking.
Global Vision
Our badges cover a wide array of topics: from programming a simple game to designing eco-friendly tech projects, from building and programming robots to creating apps that solve real-life issues. We also emphasize soft skills like digital citizenship and online safety, ensuring our scouts are well-rounded, ethical users of technology.
Community
But it’s not just about the skills; it’s about the community. Scouts will collaborate, compete, and share their achievements, learning from each other and building friendships along the way. We provide a safe, supportive environment where mistakes are just part of the learning process, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow.
